Create memories on a family hot spring trip
First day
15:00
For a long-awaited family trip, we chose the all-inclusive hot spring ryokan, Ochiairo. With a minivan pickup service from Shuzenji Station, there's no need to worry about the number of family members or luggage. Although it's rare to find a ryokan that welcomes children, our excitement is high for Ochiairo's family-friendly atmosphere.15:30
Relax and unwind in your room. The children’s eyes light up at the sight of the unique Japanese-modern decor and the small-sized yukata, which they don’t usually get to see.16:00
Stretch your legs and explore the sights. Amagi Yugashima and Shuzenji offer many natural treasures, including the stunning Joren Waterfall and beautiful maple forests. You can also rent bicycles to visit these nearby attractions.17:30
Enjoy an early dinner in the comfort of a private dining room, where you can relax without worrying about others. Both adults and children are served beautifully presented dishes made with high-quality Izu ingredients, allowing the whole family to savor a delicious and enjoyable meal together.19:00
Visit Tengu no Yu with the kids. The mystical cave bath enchants both adults and children alike. The water is wonderfully soft, leaving your skin feeling incredibly refreshed after the soak.20:00
Toast with milk and local beer in the retro-modern lounge. With snacks and ice pops available, the time after your bath becomes a delightful experience.21:00
Sleep comfortably in a low-profile twin bed arrangement with everyone nestled together. The room "Aoi" bed can be joined, allowing ample space for the whole family. Already thinking ahead, you imagine staying here with grandparents next time, enjoying a multigenerational visit.22:00
After the children have gone to bed, enjoy cheers with drinks from the room's minibar, reflecting on the day's experiences. Despite its high level of sophistication, Ochiairo offers warm and attentive service from all its staff. With the comfort and relaxation provided, even with children in tow, you savor the happiness of a truly restful experience.the 2nd day
07:30
Awake earlier than usual to the sound of birds chirping. Outside the window, a sea of green stretches out, and you sit on the veranda for a while, admiring the garden.08:00
Enjoy breakfast in the same dining area as yesterday. The fluffy texture of the tamagoyaki (Japanese omelet) and the fresh flavor of the grilled fish are simply irresistible08:30
Visit the charming suspension bridge on the property. With a gentle breeze flowing through, listen to the sound of two rivers converging as you gaze at the surrounding mountains. The experience envelops you in the tranquility of nature, evoking a serene and peaceful feeling.09:00
Head to the private open-air bath, "Hoshi no Yu." Enjoy a relaxing and spacious bath with the family, soaking to your heart's content. Once the kids are a bit older, you plan to try the tea room-themed sauna in "Tsuki no Yu" on your next visit.10:30
Before checking out, take another stroll through the ryokan. Admire the masterful craftsmanship displayed throughout the property, reflecting the care and affection the staff have poured into the building, as well as the rich history Ochiairo has accumulated. You hope to stay here again next year, creating more family memories in this cherished place.*Depending on the season, availability of ingredients, and repairs to the building, the meals, room ceremonies, and facilities may differ from those shown in the photos.
